Reading Challenge Workshop
Two Sessions for each age group: June 28 - July 2 and August 16 - 20

Grades: K - 2nd | Time: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grades: 3rd - 5th | Time: 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Grades: 6th - 8th | Time: 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
August 16 - 20
Grades: K - 2nd | Time: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Grades: 3rd - 5th | Time: 10:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

Instructors: Christie Zuleger (K- 5th) and Josie Karcz (6th - 8th)
Grades K-2: Students will be exposed to an author and their books through reading aloud, partner reading, and books on tape. For each lesson, they read or listen to the story, play games, and/or do an art project pertaining to the story. There will be a different author each week. Join us for fun literacy activities!
Grades 3-5: Students will be exposed to an author and their books through individual reading, partner reading, and reading aloud. For each chapter we read we will have discussions and do an activity. There will be a different author each week. Come join us for reading, discussions, and fun activities!
Grades 6-8: Science fiction, historical autobiography, mystery, and Greek mythology… no matter the genre, reading always has an adventure to share and a new world to consider. Reading wants to shock you, excite you, teach you, and, most importantly, inspire you to create or do something new and different. In this workshop, students will explore stories together through circle discussions, group activities, and fun creative and analytical projects. All the genres listed above are possibilities that may be covered in the workshop.

Creative Writing Workshop

Grades 3-8: Students will learn different aspects of creative writing. We will be doing some fun writing activities. We will be doing different writing activities each week so join us for one or both sessions. If you want to learn more about writing or just like to write join us for creative writing class.
